Adrian Zai Chief Research Informatics Officer from University of Massachusetts Medical School Dr. Adrian Zai is a physician–scientist and national leader in clinical informatics whose work centers on building secure, interoperable data and AI systems that enhance translational research and patient care. As Chief Research Informatics Officer, he oversees UMass Chan Medical School’s research data infrastructure and directs the CTSA-funded Research Informatics Core, supporting investigators across academic and clinical partners. He leads the development of the Platform for Learning Health System at UMass (PLUM)—a cloud-based environment that integrates clinical data, analytics, and AI to accelerate discovery. Dr. Zai also directs the state-funded Massachusetts AI Assurance for Healthcare (MAIAH) Lab, which evaluates healthcare AI models for transparency, fairness, and safety.
